In response to Dr. Bush's inquiry about Mark Twain's friendship with James
Whitcomb Riley.

Mary Boewe has done work on Mark Twain and James Whitcomb Riley.  She
presented a lecture at the Elmira College Center for Mark Twain Studies on
October 9, 1996, entitled :Mark Twain and James Whitcomb Riley" Tracing a
Literary Friendship."
Also her article 'On Stage and Off with James Whitcomb Riley and Mark Twain"
can be found in TRACES, a publication of the Indiana Historical Society, of
Indiana and Midwestern History, Fall 1995, vol 7 #4.
