Folks,

Here is the link to the story about Jervis Langdon today on the front page
of the Elmira _Star-Gazette_. I did not have the privilege of meeting him,
but I did have the privilege of studying at Quarry Farm in a recent
Fellowship, and I appreciate, as I know many of you do, his generosity in
making the farm available to scholars. I would value hearing from anyone
onlist or privately of your memories of him. I had just written Mr. Langdon
a letter a few weeks ago asking for an interview for my research, half
expecting not to get one, since I knew he was quite elderly. Obviously,
that will never happen now.
