Hi All;  Barb's note about Blind Tom reminds me of Blind D'Arnaut, from MY
ANTONIA, the ex-slave pianist who visits Black Hawk, Nebraska ... which
reminds me of one of the many ideas for research that I will probably never
get around to:

did Willa Cather base her tale of the blind pianist on Blind Tom?  or some
other character?

ps -- where does MT discuss Blind Tom?  does not ring any bells...
