My apologies to any Mark Twain Forum subscribers who don't find my personal
correspondence with Everett Emerson particularly entertaining--although
it's, of course, hard for me to imagine that anyone wouldn't. I obviously
sent my reply without taking the trouble to look at his message's origin.
On the other hand, if you didn't know about the award to Lou Budd, you have
now received a (somewhat cryptic) notification of it. And as a bonus, you
have a small but undeniably titillating preview of the April-June Mark Twain
Circular. --Jim Leonard
