Very recently I have read that Twain held Sol Smith's book (1868
Theatrical Management in the West and South...., I presume) in high
regard. Gribben does not list this book in *MT's Library*. I believe
there was an earlier version of Smith's book.

Can anyone help me run down a reference to Twain's knowledge of Smith?

Thanks in advance.
