Tom Quirk argues in "Huckleberry Finn's Heirs" in _Coming to Grips with
Huckleberry Finn_ for Ring Lardener, Willa Cather, and Langston Hughes.
He notes such books as _To Kill a Mockingbird_ and One Flew Over the
Cuckoo's Nest_ (110). "George Bernard Shaw admitted that Mark Twain
paved the way for his caustic wit" (113).
