I recall but cannot locate an article that dealt with
Twain's not contributing to a local Hartford event, a
"benefit," being held to raise money for Native
Americans.  Can someone help me identify the source,
please.

Also, the recent focus on Twain's interviews reminds
me of a comment that I recall reading upon his return
to the US in 1900 -- something to the effect that
there would never be black & white inter-marriage.
Anyone remember that?  Or did I make it up?
