I've read Dr. Chadwick's *The Jim Dilemma: Reading Race in Huckleberry Finn,
and found it an interesting study.

On a similar topic:  Something I wonder, and am curious if others have any
thoughts about, is: if Albert Bigelow Paine's (and Hemingway's) usage of
"Nigger Jim" might have more to do with the perception that *Huckleberry
Finn* is a racist book than the actual language within the text.
