I saw in the paper today Andy Rooney's comment on Charles Kuralt at a
memorial
service:  "In his own medium, Charles Kuralt was as good as Mark Twain."

praise for both!  It seemed an apt comparison to me, and shows how Mark
Twain
ranks as a writer (and how he shows up in all sorts of places).
