Dear All,

This is a query re the photograph of Twain, Livy, and the girls outside the Hartford house, sometime in the 80s, I assume. They are sitting on the steps of the veranda and there is a large dog stretched out in front of them. I would like to know a little bit about the dog. Did it belong to the Clemens family? Name? Breed? Anyone know?

Many thanks. --susan harris
