Saw the Paige machine at the MT Hartford House last week. I like the way
it is displayed across from the typesetter's desk.

Didn't the Merganthaler team at one point offer to buy out the Paige
interests? In essence, to merge the two technology teams? Paige and Sam
said No. That was the critical failure of judgment. He thought they had
the winning horse, but he only bet on the loser.
