Others may be able to give you more (or may already have).  There's a
journal article and since I'm not at home, I can't even give you author,
but I'll try to send later  if no one else does.  The novel was unfinished,
and has been largely lost.  The article I remember said only obout 7-10
pages were extant as I recall, but I believe they are in the Mark Twain
Papers (Bob, did I remember right?)  There's also a great deal of "Hawaii
material" in Roughing It. It's a shame about that novel...I would love to
have read it.
