_The Purloining of Prince Oleomargarine_ -- I am informed that the word
"purloining" does not appear anywhere in Mark Twain's manuscript.  But I am
struck by how well it appears to sum up the "backstory" of this publishing
venture.  I'm looking forward to seeing John Bird's version in print along
with his scholarly analysis.
