Hi Alan,

I don't know where a commentary by Twain on Uncle Tom's Cabin is, but the
author of Uncle Tom's  Cabin, Harriet Beecher Stowe,  lived right near Twain
in Hartford, Conn., so I am betting there may be something in his
correspondence, or some newspaper squib that he did indeed read it.
