Chris, some years ago I wrote the afterward to Shelley's Oxford edition to Joan of Arc. I don't have it with me now, and frankly can't quite remember what I said, but it might have some useful information for you.

You might also look at the Library of America edition (MT: Historical Romances) for editions, though I think the Harpers may be the best one.   --skh
