Regarding Micah's question about MT and crowds, I think your study
would be helped by reading his "US of Lyncherdom," which is I think a
very important essay in understanding T's thinking on a number of
matters, including a few individual "heroes," and the great mass of
cowards, the mobs.  Then read Thoreau's "Civil Dis." and see if you
think (as I do) that it's the same idea at base.  Terry Oggel
