In Billy Gillis's 1930 book, _Goldrush Days with Mark Twain_, he makes
reference to a common utterance of "Judge Rising". Is "Judge Rising" the
Reverend Franklin Rising whom Twain knew in Virginia City and also Hawaii?
Is
there any reason to think that Franklin Rising was a judge or is it just one
of the errors of the text along with "Orrin" Clemens, Dan "McQuill" and
such?
