Mr. Robinson,

You're right, it is a fascinating subject. Unfortunately we don't own the
book, and it will be a few days before I can pull it in from storage.
Meanwhile all I can tell from the partial Xerox in the files is that
George Gissing preceded Clemens and Wilkie Collins followed him. I'll
post a more complete list when I get hold of the book itself.
