Robt. Dagnall asks what evidence Hoffman cited for his claim.
The evidence is "circumstanial" as Hoffman admits and includes:
a.)Clemens association with a bohemian crowd with a "high tolerance for
   sexual ambiguity"
b.) Clemens living arrangements with Clement T. Rice & Dan de Quille. They
shared a room and bed with Clemens at different times.
c.) the ratio of men to women at the time was 1 to 15.
d.) a couple of news articles which make light of relationship of de Quill
    & Clemens
e.) Hank Morgan favors Clarence in Ct. YANKEE over his wife Sandy.
Convinced?
