"Grand Prix" one of the newly published stories in WHO IS MARK TWAIN? has an
extended description of a finely dressed woman stepping out of her carriage
in high-heels and hesitating for a moment before plunging into deep mud
(having already been drenched in her open carriage by a sudden heavy rain),
but it's just an element of the larger theme of the piece.
