No word coinages come immediately to mind, but I saw the current era of
financial shenanigans referred to in a news report within the past week
as "the new gilded age"; and last year (July 15, 2007) the phrase
appeared in the title of a New York Times article: "The Richest of the
Rich, Proud of a New Gilded Age."  --Jim Leonard
