I'm so sorry to hear the news about Hal.  He has done so much for me over the years, helping diminish my ignorance about Twain and encouraging publication of Genus Americanus: Hitting the Road in Search of America's Identity.  Thanks for updating us.  Best, Loren Ghiglione
