David Tomlinson's note sparks this.  That item came up during our meeting
of the Twain Circle at last weekend's ALA meeting in San Diego.  Our
opinion was simply that the students showed the best possible use of a
Mark Twain quote.  We thought it might be appropriate to commend those
students for their free thinking.  I think it would also be wonderful
to make them members of the Mark Twain Circle of America.  Then we would
push Twain's own agenda for questioning authority.  If anyone still has
