Hi All,

I am reaching out on behalf of a community organization that we are working closely with. They have an important collection of 16mm reel to reel films, VHS, Umatic tapes, and cassettes that they are looking to have an assessment done to determine their current state, what conservation work might entail, and whether or not there are preservation centres within Ontario that would consider maintaining the material. We do not have the current expertise or storage capacity to be able to maintain these materials properly.

If anyone has any suggestions for individuals, or groups that I could discuss this with that would be greatly appreciated.

As of right now, I am thinking about contacting the CCI, and/or LAC to see what guidance they can provide.

Thank you for your time and help you can provide.

Kind Regards,
Chris

Carleton University acknowledges the location of its campus on the traditional, unceded territories of the Algonquin nation. In doing so, Carleton acknowledges it has a responsibility to the Algonquin people and a responsibility to adhere to Algonquin cultural protocols.
