To All:

        On recent visits to other archives in Ontario, I have noted that
there are inconsistencies in the way various institutions are handling the
issue of photocopying Fire Insurance Plans in their holdings. I would
appreciate
hearing how administrators are handling the copyright claim made by the
Insurers' Advisory Organization. Do you require written consent from the
IAO for photocopying privileges?
