I'm working on Twain and Howells. I came across a very interesting essay on
WDH some time ago focusing on his financial affairs: just how careful (and
anxious) he was in keeping account of his earnings and, indeed, how sucess
ful financially he was. I can't now remember where I saw it - my brain cell
s are clearly rapidly burning out. Can any Forum reader help me out and give
me the correct reference? Cheers. Pete
