Wig? Curly wig??? Wash out your mouth with soap, girly, that warn't no
consarned wig--'twas the Clemens' own hair you see in those dusty pics.

And if someone can figure out how to make a fast buck on copyrighting a
thing, they will do it. Such is the American Way, for truth, justice, and
the
all-mighty dollar.

Now, I read where someone wrote here that Nina was long gone, his last
direct descendant--but what of his cousins, et al? Does "Tip" Saunders have
any
descendants? What of the Lamptons, the Quarleses, other Clemenses (like from
Cyril or Jeremiah, or James)--ror even the Hancock clan, with Henry
Watterson
(by marriage)--that old Louisville, Kentucky journalist (scratch a long-time
journalist and you're bound to find what Sam would call "Trundle Bed Trash,"
who by now would have begat until blue in the face.

Forgive my verbosity--I'm near mad from indexing 1100 pages of Mark Twain
Day by Day. I need one more trip to Berkeley, and for a conservative that's
like
 walking into the Looking Glass.
