I agree with the producer's complaint about the 
lukewarm NY Times review.

I say this as one who saw the production this past 
weekend.

The reviewer criticizes the musical for not 
meeting contemporary standards of politics, race, 
and culture etc.  The musical in fact is quite 
true to Twain's book in terms of the characters 
and plot.
