My understanding has been that both Twain and Paige kept wanting the machine
to do more
-- many more fonts in many more sizes. They really wanted to create the
Macintosh
WYSIWYG for ease of use, in combination with the laser printer (both of
which were
actually created by Xerox in Palo Alto), versus the IBM typing approach.
Yes, the
industry wanted something sooner and cheaper.

It was a brilliant idea for its time, and certainly deserves to be in the
Twain museum.
