Kent Rasmussen's _Critical Companion to Mark Twain_ has a chapter by
chapter analysis of how the two versions differ.  Rasmussen also makes
clear that Frank Bliss, publisher of the American edition, made edits
without Clemens's approval. Thus, the Chatto edition is much closer to
the original manuscript.
